College Searches

Students should go to colleges that fit them as individuals and that provide educational settings where they can live, learn, and thrive. No matter what anyone wants us to think, this is much more important than how an institution is ranked or how old it is. Meet with me to discuss your needs, goals, and preferences, and I will work with you to create a list of schools that would be a good match.

College Applications

Applying to colleges can be a challenge, but it can also be a positive experience that allows you to discover more about yourself. As you go through the process, I can help with as many or as few of the aspects as you would like.

High School Transcripts

Families who have designed their own high school experience need to be able to compile a high school transcript that is clear, concise, and complete. I can help parents and students produce a professional transcript with course descriptions that admissions counselors and others can easily understand.

High School Planning

How do you want to spend your high school years? What do you want to do after high school, and how will your choices now impact your options later?

Course, activity, and test selections should be based on you — your goals and your interests are important! At the same time, it’s important to be a well-educated individual who has been exposed to a wide variety of ideas. I can help you make a plan for how to do both at the same time.

Application Help for Homeschooling Parents

Homeschooling parents have a significant responsibility when their students apply to college or other programs: not only do we assist our kids in the application process, we are asked to provide documentation in addition to a high school transcript and course descriptions. The Common App and other applications require a recommendation from the school guidance counselor (that’s the primary homeschooling parent), as well as items such as a school profile, homeschooling philosophy, and grading scale & methods. I can help you create these documents.

Standardized Tests

Which tests should a student take when, and what kind of preparation is necessary for them? I am happy to discuss your range of options, including ACT, PSAT, SAT, SAT Subject Tests, AP exams, and CLEP tests.
