College Searches

Everyone who wants to go to college can find a school where they can learn and grow. Of course we all hear of the highly selective schools that receive many more applicants than they can accept, but don’t be discouraged by those statistics. Some people do get into those institutions, and much more importantly, there isn’t only one perfect school! With more than 4000 colleges and universities in the United States, you have a lot of options to consider. I can help you develop a list of colleges that would be a good match for your needs and situation.

Services I can provide:

  • Meeting with parents and student to discuss the application process and develop a search strategy

  • Discussions with parents and/or student to consider requirements, financial aid opportunities, and terms such as need-blind, need-aware, and EFC (Expected Family Contribution)

  • Discussion of possible timelines for college visits, applications, and attendance

  • Review of the student’s record, including high school transcript, standardized test results, extracurricular activities, and other relevant documentation

  • Recommendation of self-surveys and self-assessments the student can fill out, and review of the results

  • Guidance on how the student should conduct independent research on possible colleges

  • Creation of a personal “best fit” list of colleges and universities for the student

I can also help with the College Application process.
